Prepare for the Claude Certified Architect certification

Claude Certified Architect is the certification through which Anthropic, the company behind Claude, attests that a person can design and run applications built on Claude in production; for an employer or a client, it is an attestation issued by Anthropic. Colombani.ai prepares developers, architects and consultants for the exam, at Foundations or Professional level, in English or in French, individually or in groups of one to ten participants: six to ten remote sessions over one to two months, right up to the exam, built on the domains published by Anthropic.

The exam is reserved for organisations in the Claude Partner Network. If yours is not enrolled, the route to the exam is examined with you before any enrolment in the preparation.

For whom

Engineers already working with Claude

The preparation is intended for developers, architects, consultants and tech leads aiming for the Architect Foundations or the Architect Professional. It is offered to individuals and to teams, by batch of engineers. The Foundations exam guide describes a candidate who typically has six months of hands-on experience with the Claude API, Claude Code, the Agent SDK and MCP: the preparation structures that experience, it does not replace it.

Programme

Eight modules

The foundations of agent architecture

  1. 01
Agentic architecture and orchestration Agent loop, coordinator and subagents, stopping criteria, anti-patterns. Exercise: diagnosing a failing orchestration.
  2. 02
Tools and MCP Designing an MCP server, error handling, securing tool calls. Exercise: building and hardening a tool.
  3. 03
Claude Code for teams Configuration, commands, skills, hooks, planning before execution, continuous integration. Exercise: configuring a team repository.
  4. 04
Structured outputs and context management Validated schemas, reliable extraction, long context, hand-offs between agents, escalation to a human. Exercise: making an extraction reliable.

Enterprise scale and exam preparation

  1. 05
Enterprise architecture and integration Integrating Claude into an existing system, deployment choices, costs.
  2. 06
Evaluation and optimisation Evaluation sets, before-and-after measurement, optimising a system in production.
  3. 07
Governance, risk and stakeholders Decision framework, compliance, presenting to an executive team.
  4. 08
Mock exam and revision plan Timed scenario questions, built in-house and never from actual exam content, commented correction, individual plan up to the exam.

These eight teaching modules are Colombani.ai's own. They map onto the five official domains of the Foundations exam guide as follows: module 1 covers agentic architecture and orchestration, module 2 tool design and MCP integration, module 3 Claude Code configuration and workflows, and module 4 the last two, prompt engineering and structured output on the one hand, context management and reliability on the other. The Professional exam guide sets out seven domains: (1) solution design and architecture, (2) Claude models, prompting and context engineering, (3) integration, (4) evaluation, testing and optimisation, (5) governance, safety and risk management, (6) stakeholder communication and lifecycle management, (7) developer productivity and operational enablement. Modules 5 to 7 mainly address domains 3 to 6, and modules 1 to 4 touch on domains 1, 2 and 7; the preparation does not claim to cover the Professional guide in full. Modules 5 to 7 are covered in depth for participants aiming for the Professional and lightened for those aiming for the Foundations. After the assessment, only the useful modules are kept.

What each participant receives
  • An assessment grid across the domains of the targeted exam
  • A graded exercise and its correction for each module
  • A mock exam with commented answers
  • An individual revision plan up to the exam date

Prepare your team

Several engineers to certify

For a manager who wants several developers or architects certified, the preparation runs in-house, as a single group of one to ten participants on a shared timetable. Each participant has an individual assessment and revision plan; joint sessions cover the common modules. French companies can apply to their OPCO for funding.

Questions

Before you book

Who offers training to prepare for the Claude Certified Architect exam?

Anthropic publishes the exam guide and runs registration through its Partner Academy; independent training providers then offer guided preparation. Colombani.ai is one of them: a Qualiopi-certified training provider in France, whose preparation is led by Ulysse Trin, holder of the Claude Certified Architect Professional issued by Anthropic, and delivered in English or in French.

How do I prepare for the Claude Certified Architect certification?

By building on hands-on practice and then working through the published domains against realistic scenarios. The Foundations exam guide describes a candidate who typically has six months of hands-on experience with the Claude API, Claude Code, the Agent SDK and MCP; its questions are multiple choice and set within production scenarios. The preparation adds an entry assessment, one exercise per domain and a mock exam, so that the time left is spent on the remaining gaps.

Claude Certified Architect: which training should you take?

Colombani.ai offers Claude Certified Architect preparation at Foundations or Professional level: six to ten remote sessions over one to two months, for individuals or for teams, in English or in French. It starts with a 30-minute conversation that sets the targeted level and the number of useful sessions.

Is the preparation available in French?

Yes. The sessions, exercises and mock exam are available in French or in English, at the participant's choice. The exam itself is set by Anthropic, which decides the languages in which it is offered.

Which level should I aim for?

The Foundations if you build applications and agents with Claude; the Professional if you already lead architecture decisions. According to Anthropic's guides, the Foundations targets solution architects who design and ship Claude applications, typically with six months of practice, while the Professional targets mid- to senior-level profiles (solution architects, AI engineers, tech leads) who turn business needs into production systems and deal with security, compliance and executive stakeholders, with three or more years of systems architecture experience recommended. The entry assessment then confirms each participant's level before the first session. Anthropic's programme also includes two other certifications, Claude Certified Associate and Claude Certified Developer, which this preparation does not cover.

How many sessions are needed?

Between six and ten, spread over one to two months. The number depends on the assessment and the targeted level: modules that are already mastered are not repeated.

Do you guarantee success in the exam?

No. The exam is set by Anthropic, which alone issues the certification, and is proctored by Pearson VUE, online or at a test centre. The preparation works on the published domains and on real cases, and the mock exam measures the gap that remains before the exam date.

How do I register for the exam?

Anthropic reserves the exam for organisations in the Claude Partner Network, and registration goes through its Partner Academy. If yours is not enrolled, the route to the exam is examined with you before any enrolment in the preparation. The exam is then sat under Pearson VUE proctoring, online or at a test centre.

Can a team be prepared together?

Yes, by batch of engineers. Each participant keeps an individual assessment and revision plan; shared sessions cover the common modules.

How much does it cost?

The price is set on quotation, after the assessment, according to the number of participants and the targeted level. For French companies, Colombani.ai is a Qualiopi-certified training provider, which makes it possible to request funding from an OPCO.
